Gentle Child Sleep Consultancy &

Early Years Family Life Coach

This is ME!

You guessed it,

I'm Vi!

I would like to introduce myself.

I am a wife, mother to twin girls, teacher, parent coach and a baby/child sleep consultant, who loves to learn. Down time consists of long walks with the family dog, snuggling up with a good book (and the family cat) and playing any kind of game.

I am passionate about children! I love them, have a huge empathy for them, relate to them and want to help them achieve the best in life. Related to this are, of course, you: the parents. I am here to help you in any way I can; be it sleep training, learning through play, numbers/letters, fun activities that develop your child’s gross and fine motor skills, potty training, confidence building, school readiness - anything. I want to collaborate with you in order to empower you so that you can have a happy, relaxed family life.

Why should you listen to me?

Well, I have been involved with children since 1984, when I helped raise my (much younger!) baby sister.

As wonderful as she was (and still is!), she was an awful sleeper! My mother and I got up 23 times in one night for her! It was horrendous! I actually fell asleep on my Maths test the next day. Luckily the teacher was very understanding and allowed me to retake the test the next day.

Then there was babysitting, studying Montessori, teaching Montessori to the children (for over 20 years!), lecturing Montessori to prospective teachers, as well as raising my own twin girls.

With my twins I was up with one or the other child every 45 minutes! I know what it's like to be completely sleep deprived. I know how hard it is to be the parent you want to be to your child when all you want to do is sleep. Patience is almost non-existent when you are so tired that you can't think straight.

Because of all this, an interest in baby and children's sleep developed. I noticed how behaviour deteriorated when the children were tired. I noticed how parents interacted differently with their children (and each other!) when they had not had enough sleep. So, I studied further and I am now also a certified Baby and Child Sleep Consultant.

I wish I had known all that I know now all those years ago. How much easier it would have been for my sister, for my Mum, Dad and brother, for my twins, for my husband and myself! All those lives affected by lack of sleep.

So now I look at the whole picture before giving advice. I take into account all members of the family, the family lifestyle, circumstances and the temperament of the individuals.

I have done hours and hours of Continuing Professional Development courses throughout my years in childcare, covering a vast range of topics from 'Encouraging Positive Behaviour' to 'Children and Young People’s Mental Health'. Through all of this I have accumulated a ton of knowledge and practical experience (and a good few tips and tricks!) that I want to pass along to make yours and your child’s experience as enjoyable and painless as possible.

My Beautiful Family :)

STOP being tired.

I can help!

The first step always begins with understanding what your little one needs.
